Its been a crazy busy few months getting work ready for a crop of Winter shows.
So I’m looking forward to taking a breather and getting stuck into some work back in the print room and studio soon….hopefully.
Here’s a summary of group shows currently on, where you can see my work.
I’m delighted to have had 2 works selected and on show at the Discerning eye this year in London. Also at the Late November Gallery in Wales 3 framed pieces, using mixed media on book pages, are being shown alongside established artists like Neil Canning and ‘Print Master’ Basil Beatie. Throughout December a group of framed works will be on show at the Bircham Gallery winter show part 2.

A sheltered place
September has been all about contrast. Alongside working on much larger scale Canvases in my studio, I have also been enjoying some further exploration with combining Monoprint and Dry point, during frequent visits to the print studio at Digswell Arts.
I was interested in the idea of combining the scratchy drawn, linear marks, achievable with the dry point needle with the more ‘painterly’ method of mono print. Working on the smaller scale again has provided light relief from working on the much larger scale canvases which employ paint and mixed media.

All work Dry point, mono print and collage on paper. More images on the Monoprint drawings page

Throughout September I’ll be displaying a group of works that were recently exhibited at Parndon Mill in Essex, as part of a group show titled ‘Encounters’.
Rhode Island is a new American style restaurant at Cherry Hinton, on the outskirts of Cambridge. Described as a ‘daytime hub’ or ‘cosy evening bolt-hole’ that ‘fuses daytime brunching, cocktail-swilling evenings, with a thought-provoking programme of cultural events and a whole array of art”. This new venue has as its vision a passion to turn the traditional eating experience ‘on its head’ . The busy schedule of events includes live acoustic music, themed dining nights and a regular programme of art shows.
